This week my parents are up for a visit. Today we will tour a local historical mansion and gardens called Sonnenberg. This 40-room mansion is in the Queen Anne style, built between 1885-1887.
The original owners, Frederick Ferris Thompson (a New York banker) and his wife, Mary Clark, purchased the property in 1863. In this post I will share some of the pictures I took. The rooms include the Great Hall, Billiard room, Library, Drawing Room, Dining Room, Entry, Upstairs and several bedrooms.
The tour was self guided with many volunteers happy to answer all our questions. Since I took so many pictures I will share them in three separate blog posts. Enjoy!
