A Visit to Sonnenberg Gardens
Part 3

July 3, 2009

Here are some more pictures from Sonnenburg. Today I am sharing my tour of one of my favorites, the Japanese Garden.

In 1906, Mary Thompson hired a Japanese designer and a team of workers to create this work of art. We loved all the different bridges located here. There is also a tea house which was built in 1908. I can imagine going out to the tea house every afternoon to enjoy a lovely cup of tea! It must have been so special for Mary Thompson to have so many different gardens to visit daily. The gardens create peaceful places where you feel as though you could spend the day just resting.

Hope you have enjoyed Sonnenberg Mansion and Gardens as much as we did!
