This summer has been a very busy time around my house. My husband and I decided to move back south after the past winter we experienced in upstate New York.
As many of you will remember, last winter was absolutely horrible. Frigid temperatures, way too much snow, severe ice damming, and it lasted for several months without Mother Nature letting up. So, making the decision not to go through this again, we put our house up for sale in May and started preparing to move south.
Several months later we are unpacking, getting settled, and enjoying the warmer temperatures here in North Carolina. There are many things I miss from living in New York but believe me once the snow starts flying and cold sets in I will be thankful to be in the south once again. :0)
As far as planning events I have decided to take a break for a few months to revamp and get some needed rest. However I have been entertaining some at home. Nothing elaborate by any means as most of my inventory is still in boxes but it is nearly impossible for me to just sit down to a plain table.
Labor Day always feels like the last hurrah to summer before the autumn colors and slight chill fills the air. So, this past weekend being Labor Day, we had some friends over for dinner. I snapped a few pictures and thought I would share them with you.
I gathered what I could find considering most of my table décor is still packed in boxes. My inspiration started with a few starfish I found and, well, this is what I ended up with. Au revoir to summer!
