Being back in North Carolina has its advantages this time of the year. One being that December isn’t freezing cold with lake effect snow flying all around; and two, having to bundle up like Ralphy’s brother in The Christmas Story just to go outside.
Nope, December in North Carolina may be chilly at night but nothing that a jacket and cup of hot cocoa can’t fix. One thing for sure you can still enjoy outdoor outings.
Looking for something the family could do, I purchased tickets for everyone to go and enjoy the Chinese Lantern Festival in Cary. I have to say it really was absolutely amazing! All the characters light up your way through a path that takes about an hour to twist through. You feel like a child strolling through a park at night with a surprise around every corner. I think everyone should experience The Chinese Lantern Festival at least once. It makes for a memorable family outing.
