This is another beginner tablescape class I taught this week. From time to time I offer these in my home and the ladies always have a blast. The theme this time was “Coffee Anyone?” – How to create a table for dessert.
The criteria was:
1. The table will be designed for four.
2. The napkin should be displayed in a non-traditional manner.
3. You must use every item provided. Good luck!
Wanting to inspire a little creativity (since a table for four could end up so ordinary) I gave the ladies eight placemats instead of four. I did get a few odd looks. 🙂
The placemats did throw them for a loop to begin with. I gave them a little nudge: try putting the placemats on top of each other in some way. And waalaa! Sometimes all we need is a little push in a certain direction for the creative juices to start. I loved how they twisted the placemats a little which gave the table a more modern feel. Great Job!
Now came the best part: DESSERT!
I hope this table can inspire you to think outside the box. Can’t wait to hear what you come up with. 🙂
