Today I arranged the flowers for Sonnenburg Flower Show buffet table. I mainly used the same flowers I purchased for the mantel. I chose a fallish container I already had to give height. The traditional arrangement was a breeze to put together. I was really happy with the way it turned out.
Now on to the buffet serving setup. I purchased a paisley print fabric I felt went with the time period and look of the house. To add some texture to a rather flat-feeling table, I scrunched the fabric somewhat. I thought using all white dishes would make the food show up well and pop off of the darker fabric.
After finalizing my table I received a phone call to inform me they had changed the alfresco table for four to a buffet-style setup for four. The buffet table also had to clearly show the menu to be served. Needless to say I was not really thrilled to hear this since I had just finished the first table. Ugg. So back to tablescape land to create yet another table for the competition.
