The second gift was a bag of candy to resemble sugar plums. Who doesn’t love candy right? 🙂
The first gift was a mouse Christmas ornament for our older daughter. I made a replica from the ornament I have had since my childhood that the girls remember hanging every year on our tree. Now she can have her own to hang on her tree. For our younger daughter, one of her favorite candies is Jelly Belly jellybeans. I ran across these with a picture of Mickey Mouse (“not even a mouse”).
Each year for Christmas I share a Christmas carol, poem, or movie with our girls over the course of 12 days. Last year I chose the 12 days of Christmas and gave them a themed gift for each day. This year I chose to go with a best-loved Christmas poem by Clement Clarke Moore. The title is “A Visit from St. Nicholas” – better known to you and me as “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.”
Over the past few weeks I have received many requests asking me to put together a Nutcracker tablescape for the holidays. So today I did just that – for you!
One Brogden family tradition we have is every Christmas Eve we eat Chinese food for dinner and watch a movie called A Christmas Story. For those of you who are not familiar with A Christmas Story, it is the movie that often runs on TBS for a 24-hour marathon. I am sure you may have passed it by wondering why in the world do they keep playing the “same” movie all day long. :o)
