Each year for Christmas I share a Christmas carol, poem, or movie with our girls over the course of 12 days. Last year I chose the 12 days of Christmas and gave them a themed gift for each day. This year I chose to go with a best-loved Christmas poem by Clement Clarke Moore. The title is “A Visit from St. Nicholas” – better known to you and me as “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.”
Since moving to New York it is amazing the amount of history that has come out of this state. While doing research on Clement Moore I found out he lived in New York and his poem was first printed in Troy, N.Y. which is just north of Albany.
This year I will be sharing with you each gift we gave our girls that goes with “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.” My husband and I always have a blast coming up with the themed gifts each year. I will say as the girls have gotten older the gifts have gotten a little more challenging. They aren’t elaborate gifts by any means, just a little something fun to bring some excitement to twelve days of their lives during December.
Hope you have a wonderful Christmas! Please drop me an email, I would love to hear about your Christmas traditions past or present with your family. 🙂
