This year was my turn to host the annual Easter brunch for the Lady’s Book Club. Whoever hosts the brunch does not have to prepare the main food courses. I only have to decorate the table and prepare fresh fruit and drinks, which is nice. Everyone else brings the food.
This morning looking out my picture window I was amazed to catch not one but four Northern Flickers around one of my bird feeders.
Happy New Year! Isn’t it hard to believe the calendar already shows 2015?
January can be a tough month living in up state New York. All the joys, lights, and excitement of the holidays have flown by and we are left with snow, wind, grey, and cold. It can be a hard month for one to go through but I wanted to concentrate on the beauty January does offer.
The twelfth gift was a set of dish towels with a picture of Santa, his sleigh and reindeer flying over houses “ere he drove out of sight” for our oldest daughter who is on her own; and a pair of bedroom shoes for our youngest daughter (whose still in college) for a “good night.”
